We’re excited to share a glimpse of our upcoming board game, The Danish Claim, an alternate historical strategy game set in the early 2000s. It imagines a fictional conflict between Denmark and Sweden over southern Sweden and control of the Öresund Strait, a vital trade route.

In The Danish Claim, players step into the two nations’ roles. Denmark, driven by nationalist policies and economic pressures, takes an aggressive stance to secure regional dominance. Sweden, struggling with internal political divisions, must choose how to respond—militarily, politically, or through strategic economic moves.

The game combines military strategy with political and economic considerations. While focusing on military actions, players must also account for the political and geopolitical factors that can sway the conflict in favour of either side.

Designed for 2 players, the game explores a hypothetical scenario grounded in historical realism. It’s an opportunity to engage with a conflict that never happened and probably never will.

As we approach the release, We’ll share more details, including mechanics and artwork. We hope The Danish Claim sparks your interest in the hypothetical, possible strategies and the “what-ifs” of geopolitics.

Stay tuned!
